Our Mission

The Center for Technology-Enhanced Language Learning and Instruction, or the TELL Center for short, was established in 1997 with the financial support of the Office of Vice-President for Academic Affairs at Purdue University. Its mission is to support technology-oriented research and development applicable to foreign language instruction. The Center is committed to disseminating and sharing research results and developed products through a variety of channels for the betterment of the field of foreign language education.

We are happy to host the following web sites to the general public, including the academic, language instructors', and learners' communities.

  • KanjiWiki - Exchange ways to memorize Japanese kanji characters.
  • 茶漉 (Chakoshi) - Use a search & collocation tool on Japanese text and conversation corpora. It is also the home of Nagoya University Conversational Corpus (名大会話コーパス).
